Our wonderful Parkinson’s dancers performed at the Old Fire Station as part of the Let’s Dance initiative, spearheaded by Angela Rippon, raising awareness for the benefits of dance on both physical and mental health. Thank you for the dancers and the audience who enthusiastically joined in!
This new weekly choir combines the joy of singing with music therapy benefits, supporting vocal strength, breath control, and movement through diverse, participant-inspired repertoire, led by mezzo-soprano and neurologic music therapist Serenna Wagner.
Join us for another term of dance, music, movement, stories and creativity. Our Parkinson’s programme continues with the Dance for Parkinson’s and Mindful Movement for Parkinson’s classes as well as a brand new Singing for Parkinson’s choir. We are also excited to welcome new participants to our lovely Dance for Joy class.

“…our ballet class is the highlight of my week. Apart from being really good exercise it is also such fun and is joyful from start to finish. We are truly blessed to have two kind and gifted ballet teachers plus a brilliant pianist. We also have several dedicated helpers who are always at hand to help those with extra mobility difficulties. I am very grateful that we have been given this precious gift which makes me so happy. My sincere thanks for continuing to make this possible.”

“People with Parkinsons are encouraged to exercise and I do but the only form of exercise I really enjoy is Dance for Parkinsons. I don't worry too much what I look like, we are all in the same boat after all, and for an hour and a half I just forget about my problems and enjoy the wonderful movement and music. There is something so uplifting about moving in time to music. Our three instructors are all mega talented - we are so fortunate to have them.”

In class I forget my condition, I'm in my happy place and my body wants to dance like it did 30 years ago!!

‘I feel I am holding back the tide, slowing progress of the symptoms, possibly even alleviating them, by not giving in to the stiffness, the joint pain, the tremor, the brain fog etc. I feel I am doing as much if not more to help manage my condition than the medication I take is doing. I am being proactive and positive and enjoying myself.’

‘It’s a treat to have the opportunity to dance to and move to live music. It encourages me to stretch, exercises my joints, helps with balance and to keep mobile in an enjoyable way.’
